Schubert Packaging Systems is a specialist in end-of-line packaging, turnkey lines, engineering consulting and the pharmaceutical industry.
Schubert Packaging Systems was founded in 1972 (at that time under the name International Packaging Systems) as a sales company for the worldwide marketing of Gerhard Schubert GmbH packaging machines. Twenty years later, IPS became a wholly owned subsidiary of Gerhard Schubert GmbH in Crailsheim.
The mission of Schubert Packaging Systems is the holistic optimization of packaging processes: with interdisciplinary approaches, we develop complete solutions for packaging lines and systems that go far beyond the simple installation and linking of individual machines. Across industries, we design turnkey lines and, as an engineering service provider, advise both medium-sized companies and international corporations on all aspects of end-of-line packaging and related processes.
1972
The International Packaging Systems GmbH (IPS) is founded. The shareholders are Carl Edelmann GmbH and the two entrepreneurs Gerhard Schubert and Leo Hayes.
1978
The company grows and moves to the Jagstbrücken tower in Crailsheim.
1984
IPS presents itself for the first time at the interpack trade fair in Düsseldorf. In addition to Leo Hayes, Paul Utz becomes Managing Director.
1986
IPS moves into its first office building.
1992
IPS becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Gerhard Schubert GmbH in Crailsheim.
1999
Gerald Schubert is appointed Managing Director alongside Paul Utz.
2005
Paul Utz retires. Peter Gabriel is appointed Managing Director alongside Gerald Schubert. Olaf Horrenberger is given procuration.
2009
For the first time, IPS achieves an annual turnover of more than 50 million euros.
2010
Olaf Horrenberger takes over the executive management from Gerald Schubert.
2011
IPS expands its product portfolio with a graduated range of five engineering services, from which Schubert Consulting will be established on 1 January 2016: General Contractor, Engineering Consulting, Project Management, Line Optimisation and Life Cycle Partnering.
2014
Schubert-Pharma is founded as a new unit: SPS takes over the sales, implementation and service for all Gerhard Schubert GmbH pharmaceutical lines.
2016
IPS operates under the Schubert Packaging Systems GmbH (SPS) name.
2017
Schubert Cosmetics is founded as a new unit: SPS is responsible for the sales, implementation and service of all Gerhard Schubert GmbH cosmetic systems.
2021
Johannes Schubert takes over the management from Peter Gabriel. The Schubert-Cosmetics unit moves to the parent company Gerhard Schubert GmbH.
2022
Schubert Packaging Systems GmbH celebrates its 50th anniversary. For five decades, SPS has been advising a wide variety of companies on all aspects of end-of-line packaging and related processes.
2023
Through a conversion with sustainable products, the number of workplaces was nearly doubled.
2024
SPS achieves an order intake of 140 million euros.
