Special features
of vials

Vials are among the most sensitive packaging formats in the pharmaceutical industry. Our top-loading packaging machines are specifically designed to load vials gently, precisely, and efficiently into secondary packaging such as folding cartons or trays – either individually or grouped.

1. Carton Forming
2. Partition Forming
3. Vial Infeed
4. Vial Loading
5. Carton Closing + Outfeed

Machine Workflow

1. Infeed: Vials

The vials are fed into the machine in a single lane via a rotary table.

2. Form: Cartons

The flat carton blanks are stacked in a dual-lane magazine. A TLM-F3 robots de-nests the flat blanks from the magazine and presents them to the TLM-F2 robot. After code verification, the blank passes over glue nozzles and is then pressed through a forming die. This process forms the carton.

3. Form: Partition

Another TLM-F2 robot accepts the partition blank from a TLM-F3 de-nesting robot. The partition is folded at the defined positions and glued into the erected carton.

4. Load: Vials

A camera at the infeed detects the vials and reads the data on the label. Based on this information, a TLM-F4 robot picks up the products and precisely groups the vials on the Transmodule. A TLM-F2 robot then takes over the pre-grouped products and safely loads them into the cartons.

5. Load: Package inserts

Using a TLM-F3 robot, the package inserts are taken from a dual-lane magazine, the code is verified, and the inserts are presented to the TLM-F2 robot. The TLM-F2 robot then places the inserts onto the products inside the carton.

6. Close: Cartons

The TLM-F2 robot closes the filled carton and subsequently places it onto the discharge conveyor.

7. Discharge: Cartons

The sealed and inspected carton leaves the machine via a discharge conveyor.
